About 3 years ago my grandmother, who is my hero, was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s disease. We spent many months in and out of hospitals and I was her full time caregiver at the time. She was my everything. It final came down to the point where me and my family could no longer take care of her. So we put her in a nursing home that specialized in Alzheimer’s disease. She spent the last few months of her life there. The staff at the nursing home was so good to my grandmother and my family and thats when I realized that I wanted to help people that were in that situation. My philosophy of healthcare is to treat every patient and their family as I was treated when I was in their shoes.
