Spring Commencement Confers Over 500 Degrees

Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences held its Spring Commencement ceremonies on April 17, 2011, at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Winter Park, Florida.  The ceremony conferred over 500 Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees to graduates completing their respective programs of study.

Commencement Speaker, Rosco J. Howard, III

Roscoe J. Howard, III, Vice President of Mission and Ministries for Adventist Health Systems, was the speaker for the commencement address.   Mr. Howard’s address, entitled “Set Sail,” had both amusing anecdotes and insightful advice for the graduates as they prepare to embark on their new careers.  Among the many words of advice given by Mr. Howard were these three closing statements:

“Don’t fight change, be a part of the change, take control of the change.”
“Enjoy the ride.  Make a difference, life is for living.”
“God is in control, trust in the Lord.”
Diplomas are presented

After the graduates had received their diplomas, President Greenlaw gave this charge, “Add to the common store of knowledge, be diligent in your work, and strengthen all those with whom you labor.”

He also reminded the graduates that as sons and daughters of Florida Hospital College they are to, “serve the greater good and to serve where there is need.”

Academic departments conferring degrees at the Spring Commencement included Nurse Anesthesia, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health and Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, and Radiologic Sciences.
